VMedia has been selected by FirstTel Communications Corp. to provide TV services for Wikwemikong Unceded Reserve, a First Nations community on Manitoulin Island.
FirstTel is a local telco owned and operated by the Wikwemikong Reserve that provides internet, TV and Phone services to the community. (VMedia is the TV part of their triple play offering). The formal announcement was today at a celebration attended by over 100 members of the community including Chief Duke Peltier, who made the opening remarks.
With the support of federal programs to encourage broadband connectivity, FirstTel is able to offer high speed internet to the community and VMedia is very proud to have been chosen to provide TV services and our unique TV/OTT platform.
