Toronto, February 14, 2017 – VMedia Inc., Canada’s leading independent triple-play provider of TV, Internet and Home Phone services, announced the launch of its Valentine’s Day promo, featuring a unique free TV trial offer, together with new low Internet prices. Anyone who signs up to VMedia Internet services can now get  VMedia TV  for free for six months.

“VMedia is focused on providing Canadians with the lowest prices and the best features for TV, Internet and Home Phone services. We also believe that it is crucial to our business, and to Canadian culture, that we encourage the public to engage with live TV,” said Alexei Tchernobrivets, CEO and co-founder of VMedia.  “We hear a lot about cord-cutting and while the trend is not as dramatic as some think, nonetheless  it should be stopped and reversed. Live TV, especially high-quality network TV as provided by CTV, CBC, Global, CITY, ICI and TVA, is really the best entertainment value per dollar of any video platform out there. We want people to rediscover that truth.”

The new promo, which also features some of the lowest priced unlimited Internet packages in the market, lets anyone who switches to a VMedia Internet package try VMedia’s TheSkinny TV package at no cost for six months, for a total value of nearly $110.  Or they can select one of VMedia’s other two entry packages and still get the savings. Each package is reduced by $17.95 per month, so Basic, regularly $29.95, with over a dozen additional specialty channels like TSN 1 to 5, YTV, E!, CTV NewsChannel, MuchMusic, and CP24(where available), is now $12.00 for six months. VMedia’s  most popular package, Premium Basic, with nearly 70 channels in all, including Sportsnet and SportsnetOne, CNN, AMC, A&E, Showcase, NFL Network, MLBNetwork, Bravo, Discovery and many more, regularly $44.95, is now only $27.00.

And unlike most promos in the market there is no obligation to continue past the free period.

“VMedia  is committed to making  TV as affordable and accessible as possible,” said George Burger, co-founder and a director of VMedia. “This is a great way to reach out to people who are looking for lower TV costs and better value or who have turned their backs on TV, and show them a real alternative.

“Valentine’s Day is a great time to launch this offer, because at VMedia we love live TV. It offers hundreds of hours of great original drama, comedy, news, kids programming and of course sports – think of it, if you had live TV recently you got to watch one of the greatest sporting events of all time, SuperBowl LI, for free!”

Anyone who signs up for VMedia Internet can have the free TV service if they want it. If new customers do not have TV, they can now give it a try and see what they are  missing. If they already have a current TV provider, customers can still sample VMedia TV and compare value and features.

VMedia TV can be watched with the VBox, VMedia’s proprietary combined TV set top box  and media player, or with Roku Players 2,3,4, Roku Stick and Roku-powered TV’s.
