Hi everyone, one of the special perks of being in this business is the proximity to exceptional talent and a chance to preview great new series from broadcasters like Showtime<\/strong>. TMN – The Movie Network<\/strong> has just let us know that we can all watch the first episode of the new crime thriller Ray Donovan<\/em><\/strong>, which will have its TV premiere on June 30, on TMN\u2019s various online platforms for free.<\/p>\n

Ray Donovan<\/em><\/strong> , which The Hollywood Reporter calls \u201cthe most testosterone fueled, rough and intelligent drama in ages\u201d , centres on the relationship between Ray, played by Liev Schreiber(Defiance, Salt, Sum of All Fears, RKO 281-where he played a great Orson Welles), who is a Hollywood-based fixer of problems, and his father, played by Jon Voight (Mission Impossible, 24, The Manchurian Candidate, not to mention Angelina Jolie\u2019s real-life father!) at his evil best, as a recently-paroled crime boss. Angelina was Liev\u2019s co-star in Salt. For you conspiracy buffs\u2014Coincidence? I think not!<\/p>\n

For those of us who care-me not so much-Liev has a Canadian connection. He spent his first five years in Canada after his birth in the US.<\/p>\n

Showtime keeps banging out hit after hit, from Dexter to Californication, to House of Lies, to Homeland (on Superchannel), Shameless and Nurse Jackie, one edgier than the next, and this looks like their next big one. Do we sound like we\u2019re keen?<\/p>\n

When The Hollywood Reporter speaks, we should listen. HR and Variety are the most objective TV and movie review platforms in the world-they are not sucks for talent and the glitz and glamour of show biz. Instead they look at shows strictly from the point of view of whether they work or not, whether they will please audiences or not. So it may be worth your while to get over to here<\/a> to get a leg up on everyone else and sample what could be the next big hit on TMN.<\/p>\n
